A journey to the south

I wrote this poem some days before my graduation and what inspired me however, was the pain of separation that was staring me right in the face. The pain of losing the friends that had in one way or the other impacted my life positively all through my life in school;
         A JOURNEY TO THE SOUTH
     There are times unmeasured
Times that brought smiles and grimace
      We cruised to the north
Holding our hands for fear of the south
 Uncertain about our next steps
Yet believing we will find our way
Whispering became our form of communication
For no word should be heard by Distance

Yet Distance took that step
The one that changed our course
He stole me to the west
 Opposed to my moving south
assessing the journey so far
 Brings real heartache
One that wouldn't die away no matter how hard i try
Dear friend, move to the south

Certain about it because we've had experience
however brief our encounter was
Take that journey to the south.
