Helpless

Down and in severe pain
Tears stream down her cheeks
She can barely move
She coils herself round like a snail
Maybe perhaps her pain would cease
Her blood is boiling
Perhaps thats the only way I can explain how high her temperature has risen
She looks so pale
Oh God what is this?
I stand by her and look on
HELPLESS

My heart freezes
My eyes water
What is this?
Why would someone go through so much pain
I look on helpless
TOTALLY HELPLESS
The doctor has done his part
Down her throat, his pills race
Yet, she cries in agony
I stand there defiant
My lips wobble as I utter those words that can only be prayer
I shiver so HELPLESSly


I know the report before the syringe goes through her veins
Yet, I want evidence
I must in my God have confidence
I will wait
For the miracle that would change our fortunes
I will wait
So I stand there HELPLESS


I look into her eyes
Although now ghostly pale, sound an alarm
Rest on my arm, sweetheart
Stop crying
