I decided to pray
I decided to pray
Not because I see that ray of hope at bay
But I knew that come what may
I'd love for you to stay
Prayer is truly a price I must pay
I forgot to pray
About the many things I knew were wrong
Then suddenly my detractors want me to realize my folly
But I know beyond those dim lights
Are lines that lead me to fly beyond those nights
I know I have to pray
Because my life is a fabric I don't want to fray
And in my life's order I seek perfection
All I see are things in retrospection
That's why I have decided to pray
Not because I see that ray of hope at bay
But I knew that come what may
I'd love for you to stay
Prayer is truly a price I must pay
I forgot to pray
About the many things I knew were wrong
Then suddenly my detractors want me to realize my folly
But I know beyond those dim lights
Are lines that lead me to fly beyond those nights
I know I have to pray
Because my life is a fabric I don't want to fray
And in my life's order I seek perfection
All I see are things in retrospection
That's why I have decided to pray
