Selfish

She takes a stroll on the coast
Dirty and wet is her coat
Her feet swallowed by the beautiful crystals of sand
Beads of sweat woven along the creases of her face
She looks far away
Beyond the waves that rush to meet her
The wind rushes through her hair
She has been here before
She most fair
Her thoughts running along those same lines
To her, life has been unfair
To others, she is privileged
She has been here before
In the same position
Her mind just frozen

Selfish
This word running along the neurons of her brain
Each letter delivers a dangerous surge of electronic waves through her head.
Shivers run down her spine
Selfish
That word reiterated
Like drum sounds reverberated
She imagines and pictures.......

A rose in a desolate place..
A far far away place
Left to wither
It had rejected the wanderer's little drops
Now thirsty
Once nourished
Blossoms...Greenery
It thought it had it all
Selfish
Now it screams
Petals drawn apart
Roots beckoning to the deep
The very deep just for a drop of water....

That was her story
Once bloomy
Now gloomy
She had been selfish
She believed she had all
Well, all that she wished for
If not all,
Definitely what she had dreamed for
Just on the spur of each moment
Her fears thrown away
To her, they were in hell
Little did she know that these complexes
Would rear their ugly heads.....
