The Strife

In spite of all, be your all and still do your all-Daniella Seyram Aflakpui

I strive to be better
not because I have so many words to profess my desire to the letter
but I believe that in this fast moving world, we must learn to be better
way better than we started off

I want to be better
not  by fooling others into believing that on the pretext of  being in their good light
but I want to remain true to myself
and in spite of all, still be my all
building myself up to  become
a better version

I will strive to be better
never concerned about the opinion others have about me
not because I am made of steel
and immuned to what I'd be made to feel
but because I choose not to listen to their voices discourage me
or see their eyes lurch at me
I remain true to myself and still strive to be better

In spite of all, I'd still do my all
when my energy levels are low
and I resolve to be my best
I will become better
the days may drag
and the future may look like a raised red flag
I will still do my best and strive to become better
Because I desire to be better

when I'm near quitting
and my strong resolve for change is diminishing
I will remember that I must become better, if not for anything, just for the good of others
and that the world needs me for change
My light must shine
I will meditate on scripture
and hear Paul tell me,'Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.'
I would recall Mrs Betty D tell us,' we are what we repeatedly do. Success is not a comparison of what you have done with what others have done, it is coming to the level of your best and making the most of your abilities and capabilities'
and though my forehead cringes and my sweat pores give up, I'd ginger myself up and escape mediocrity with the pose of a victor
poised will I be for my breakthrough
I will finish what I started
with Discipline who never departed
I strive to be better

in every sphere of my life,
I strive to become better
this grants justification to my curiosity and open-mindedness
I want to learn from, make and correct all my mistakes
and through experience, be a culmination of elements that make me better
I will become better

I must make good use of opportunity, resources and my creative ideas
Trusting God that in my strife to be better,
He would make all this beautiful in His time
because indeed my life follows a script and it is scripted by scripture!!
